The President of the Association spoke at the conference "Leasing and the Future of Mobility"
At the conference "Leasing and the Future of Mobility," jointly organized by the Association of Leasing Companies of Serbia (ALCS) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, the president of the Association, Aleksandra Djurdjević, gave a speech.
Djurdjević presented data on trends in the new car market at the EU, regional, and Serbian levels, comparing current data with the pre-COVID period (2019). While the forecast for Serbia suggests that by the end of 2024, we will reach the level of new car sales seen in 2019, the EU market is still far from that level.
She also highlighted the declining share of gasoline and diesel engines in sales across the EU (2019–2024) and the simultaneous increase in the market share of electric and hybrid vehicles. Although in small absolute values, hybrid vehicle trends in Serbia mirror those in the EU, with the country lagging significantly in terms of electric vehicles.
Djurdjević also addressed the used car market in Serbia, making another plea to authorities to halt the import of the most significant environmental polluters used cars with EURO 3 and 4 emissions standards.
