Strategic and intersectoral approach for the accelerated development of electric vehicles in Serbia

A meeting was held at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce between representatives of the Serbian Association of Vehicle and Parts Importers and the President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Marko Čadež, the Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade, Jagoda Lazarević, and the Minister of Environmental Protection, Sara Pavkov.

The topic of the meeting was the improvement of the electric vehicle market development in Serbia and the further advancement of e-mobility. It was agreed to establish an intersectoral working group that will coordinate the activities of relevant institutions and the business sector, with the aim of systematically creating measures and policies in this field. The proposed measures are expected to be considered at the highest decision-making level.

Priorities highlighted included the continuation of subsidies for the purchase of electric vehicles, the development of supporting infrastructure—primarily the charging network—as well as the introduction of additional non-financial incentives that would contribute to greater accessibility of electric vehicles for citizens and companies.

The development of e-mobility is viewed in the context of following contemporary European and global trends in sustainable transport and the green transition.
