PRESS RELEASE
DDOR BG CAR SHOW 09 and Motopassion 2026 – Market Growth and the Transformation of the Automotive Industry
Belgrade, 12 March 2026 – The Serbian Association of Vehicle and Parts Importers, the Belgrade Fair, and DDOR Osiguranje today presented the program of the upcoming DDOR BG CAR SHOW 09 and the 18th International Motorcycle Fair – Motopassion 2026 at a press conference. The event is one of the most important regional gatherings dedicated to mobility and the automotive industry.
This year’s fair is taking place in a year when the Serbian Association of Vehicle and Parts Importers celebrates 30 years of existence, as well as 30 years of partnership with the Belgrade Fair in organizing this event.
The President of the Serbian Association of Vehicle and Parts Importers, Aleksandra Đurđević, emphasized that this year’s fair clearly demonstrates how rapidly the automotive industry is evolving and how dynamically the domestic market is developing.
“Particularly significant is the fact that over the past two years our market has seen a strong wave of new manufacturers – at this year’s fair we have 20 more car brands than in 2024, as well as 30 new motorcycle brands. This reflects both the growth and attractiveness of our market, but also the profound transformation taking place within the industry itself,” said Đurđević.
“This year’s fair will present more than 70 electric models across different categories, clearly illustrating the direction in which the global automotive industry is moving,” she said.
At the same time, she stressed that the transition toward electric mobility must be accompanied by the development of infrastructure and an adequate regulatory framework.
“For this transition to be successful and sustainable, it must be supported by infrastructure development and an appropriate regulatory framework. It is important that, as a market, we respond in a timely manner and create the conditions for this process to unfold dynamically and in a coordinated way,” Đurđević stated.
According to data from the Association, internal combustion engine vehicles still account for around 58% of new vehicle sales in Serbia, while hybrid vehicles represent about 38%, making them the fastest-growing market segment. The share of fully electric vehicles increased from 1.7% in 2024 to around 2.1% in 2025, indicating that electrification is gradually progressing.
At the same time, one of the greatest challenges of the domestic market remains the renewal of the vehicle fleet, as the average age of vehicles in Serbia is still over 17 years, which has a significant impact on both road safety and environmental protection.
Despite this, the market continues to show stable growth. Last year, more than 31,000 new passenger cars and around 5,200 light commercial vehicles were registered in Serbia. The motorcycle sector recorded particularly strong growth, with a 31% increase in motorcycle and scooter sales and an impressive 57% growth in the ATV segment.
Speaking about this year’s fair, Đurđević emphasized that DDOR BG CAR SHOW and Motopassion 2026 will be among the largest editions to date.
“This year’s DDOR BG Car Show and Motopassion will be one of the largest ever – with 216 exhibitors in the automotive segment, 50 brands, of which 42 will present as many as 73 premieres, as well as 82 exhibitors in the motorcycle segment, representing 46 brands, with 16 brands presenting 32 premieres. All of this confirms the importance of this event and its role as a central meeting point for the industry, innovation and the market,” Đurđević concluded.
Visitors will have the opportunity to see a large number of technological innovations and models that have arrived on the domestic market shortly after their global premieres, further confirming that the Serbian market is increasingly keeping pace with global mobility trends.
