President of the Association Aleksandra Đurđević: Promoting Electrification as a Priority for the Future
At the decarbonization panel held during the OIE Serbia 2025 conference, Aleksandra Đurđević, President of the Serbian Association of Vehicle and Parts Importers, emphasized that the potential for wider adoption of electric vehicles remains significant, while in Europe they already account for nearly 16% of the market.
"The sale of electric vehicles loses its purpose if we simultaneously allow the import of the most polluting cars," Đurđević stated, highlighting the need to regulate the used vehicle market. According to her, subsidies of €5,000 represent a good incentive, but a larger budget, continuity, and additional benefits—such as free parking and reduced tolls—are necessary.
"The automotive industry is moving inexorably toward electrification. The question is when electric vehicles will reach the production volume of traditional models," Đurđević concluded.

It is important to develop a clear strategy and incentives so that citizens and businesses can better follow global trends and seize the opportunities presented by the growing electrification of transport.
