ACEM – Safe Riding to the Future 3.0

The Association of European Motorcycle Manufacturers (ACEM) has released a new strategy and vision for the safety of motorcycle and moped users – “Safe Riding to the Future 3.0.”

Building on the success of previous editions, “Safe Riding to the Future 3.0” reaffirms the motorcycle sector’s commitment to improving road safety through the application of cutting-edge technologies, the promotion of high-quality rider training, and the advocacy for inclusive policies that fully integrate motorcycles into the rapidly evolving mobility ecosystem.

“Safe Riding to the Future 3.0” highlights the European Motorcycle Training Quality Label, an industry-led initiative that has already certified 36 post-license training programs across 11 countries. The strategy also outlines how the motorcycle sector is working with European and national stakeholders to promote legislation that supports the growing use of motorcycles in a safe and sustainable way.

ACEM fully supports the “Safe System” approach, which takes a holistic view of road safety by considering human capabilities, vehicle characteristics, and infrastructure factors. By working with governments, traffic and road organizations, local authorities, and safety bodies, the motorcycle industry is committed to achieving the EU’s “Vision Zero” objectives – aiming for zero road deaths and serious injuries by 2050.

“Mopeds, motorcycles, tricycles, and quadricycles are an essential part of the European mobility landscape, providing efficient and sustainable mobility options for millions. With the ‘Safe Riding to the Future 3.0’ program, ACEM members reaffirm their determination to ensure that these vehicles are fully integrated into transport strategies – for a better future through safer motorcycle riding, in the interest of users and society at large.” – says Antonio Perlot, ACEM Secretary General.
